I am honored to inform you that, this year, my name

joined this list of remarkable people, as my debut novel

Yefon: The Red Necklace was not only among the

novels at the Author Pavilion, but it sold out too!

But hold up!! This is starting to sound too serious…. Before I tell you more, I know I have been away for a days!!!!

I have been away for a few days, and frankly I missed journaling, and sharing my adventures with you!
But, you know without doubt that it was for a good cause!
Before I continue with my story, let me give you something a little less heavy to smile about...
PLEASE WATCH THIS VIDEO! SCI-FI GONE WRONG!

Seriously I'm not trying to be mean but BAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!

OKAY! Back to the Story! I promise you, no more distractions!

Like I was telling you, For the past weekend, I was so pre-occupied in Las Vegas…

Nah, I wasn’t balling out and attending topless pool parties, as one would expect…

This time around, I was honored to be among the few actors at the Author Pavilion of the NAACP Annual Convention, selling copies of Yefon: The Red Necklace, and signing books for clients!
                                                        ****
The good news is that I made a lot of great contacts, and sold out all copies of Yefon: The Red Necklace!

Woooo-hooo!!!!!!

And I don't just say these facts to gloat in your face as it may come off!

I always use details to remind us all, that it is possible!!!

The Big lesson I learnt from this experience was

I will to teach you those 10 tips in a moment!

But Before I do so, let me tell you what the NAACP stands for…

The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) is an African-American civil rights organization in the United States, formed in 1909.

Its mission is "to ensure the political, educational, social, and economic equality of rights of all persons and to eliminate racial hatred and racial discrimination’’.

Its name, retained in accordance with tradition, uses the once common term colored people.

The NAACP bestows the annual Image Awards for achievement in the arts and entertainment, and the annual Spingarn Medals for outstanding positive achievement of any kind, on deserving black Americans

It has its headquarters in Baltimore, Maryland.’’

The NAACP holds an annual convention, and this year it was held at the Mandalay Hotel in Las Vegas.

There were many parts of the program, including the Author’s Pavilion, which I was honored to be a part of this year. The NAACP Author Pavilion is produced by The Oracle Group and is free and open to the public!”

PROS AND CONS OF WEEKEND

CONS FROM MY TRIP
- Vegas at this time of the year is hot as hell! Taxis out there are expensive and I ended up being dehydrated each there, with skin as cracked as a math book!
If you don't know what that looks like, here is some visual help, LMAO.

In desperation, I bought this oil from Walgreens, only to find out how toxic it is ... SMH. Find out why:

PROS FROM MY TRIP

1. I sold all my books! Learn How.

   2. I made so many priceless contacts this weekend at the NAACP. When you look at an organization, with so much history and tenacity, you can imagine what quality of people it attracts. I was truly honored and grateful to connect with all of them!

The funniest part for me was meeting these famous people that every one else knew but me, and running my mouth Sahndra style. They would eventually ask me where I was from, and we would have a great conversation.

A good example of this was author Eriq La Salle, who I saw in the movie Coming to America, when he looked like this..

But now, signing next to him at the pavilion, I had no the slightest clue that it was he!
This is how he looks now... Of course when you put both photos side by side, you can tell its the same person...

But at that moment, I had no clue.

3) I was part of a panel of four, including the Ugandan sisters, and  hair blogger @naturalhairrule [ http://www.naturalhairrules.com/]

We spoke about culture, natural hair and staying authentic! It was truly wonderful!

4) I enjoyed a nice trip with my mother, and sharpened my marketing skills!

5) I connected with many fans, and met new ones!

Disclaimer: I left the pavilion early because I have another signing in DC this weekend, and I had to return to LA to get ready for it, so it is still going on now. Today is the last day.
