Did You Know TOP LIPSTICK BRANDS COULD BE KILLING YOU?
I was initially appalled when I first found out.
I remember thinking, its probably one of these crazy things that people like to say... just because. I WISH it was...
I own a lot of lipstick, and you probably do too... SMH. And we sometimes think the more expensive ones are better... I wish that was true.
In my eyes, most of these make up companies should be sued... because they are all equally guilty of putting harsh chemicals in their products that can put us in harm's way in the long run...Some of these top brands even contain ''hidden ingredients'' that are not mentioned on the labeling.
No one is trying to call any one out here, but I'm just saying that when you chose not to include certain **harmful** ingredients on your labeling when you know you are killing me, that's when you betrayed my trust! You are making me use my own money to kill myself!
CA ALORS! C'est nest pas possible! Quand meme!
ALL I AM SAYING, IS CAN YOU PLEASE DISCLOSE ALL YOUR INREDIENTS???? OR PLEASE PUT A WARNING SIGN... SIGN PETITION HERE
YOU ARE PROBABLY REALLY CURIOUS NOW...as you should be.
The big questions are:
1. What hidden ingredients?
2. What companies?
LET ME ANSWER YOU...
SOME HIDDEN INGREDIENTS FOUND IN LIPSTICK AND LIPGLOSS Just to name a few:
1. Tocopheryl Acetate:
It is also known as vitamin E acetate, and its pretty much used in a variety of products, including lipstick, moisturizer and foundation.
The Cosmetics Database rates it as a "moderate hazard" because it may cause itching, burning, scaling, hives and skin blistering, and may be toxic.

2. Propylparaben :
It is a frequently used cosmetics ingredient that can irritate skin and eyes or cause reactions in those who are allergic.
Some studies have also raised concerns about endocrine disruption, cancer and other toxic effects. It is rated a "moderate hazard" by the Cosmetics Database.
3. Colorants:
Colorants such as D&C Red 36 (rated "low hazard"), and D&C Red 22 Aluminum Lake (rated "moderate hazard") are typically tested on animals, and have raised concerns because some research has linked exposure to nervous system damage and other health concerns.
4. Retinyl Palmitate:
It is a synthetic form of vitamin A that may be toxic to pregnant women. It is rated a "moderate hazard" by the Cosmetics Database because limited evidence links exposure to a range of health problems, from cancer to reproductive effects.
Reproductive what? Abeg oo I want children for my Husband...
5. Methylparaben:
It is a preservative used in many beauty products ... at least in the U.S. Use of these chemicals is restricted in the European Union because they've been linked to cancer, may disrupt the endocrine system, or be toxic in other ways. The Cosmetics Database labels them a "high hazard."
6. LEAD:
This one needs no introduction. It is a naturally occurring element found in small amounts in the earth’s crust. While it has some beneficial uses, it can be toxic to humans and animals causing of health effects.
But LEAD though????? WHY????
* According to CNN, lead isn't the only toxic metal found in these lipsticks. In a recent study, University of California researchers tested eight lipsticks and 24 lip glosses and detected nine toxic heavy metals, including chromium, cadmium, manganese, aluminum and lead.
The FDA said, "We have assessed the potential for harm to consumers from use of lipstick containing lead at the levels found in both rounds of testing. Lipstick, as a product intended for topical use with limited absorption, is ingested only in very small quantities. We do not consider the lead levels we found in the lipsticks to be a safety concern."
